Trakside Motors is a family run automotive service shop. It was opened in October 2011 by husband and wife, Scott and Jodi McAmmond. Scott and Jodi relocated to Grandview, which is where Jodi grew up, to follow their dream of owning and running their own shop.

Scott entered into the automotive industry in 2002. He completed school at South Winnipeg Technical College in Winnipeg, Mb afterwards taking a job a McNaught Motors downtown Winnipeg. Scott continued to work at McNaught through the move to the auto mall in south Winnipeg working as a general technician and specializing in transmissions. Scott became a fully certified red seal technician in 2006.

Jodi moved to Winnipeg from Grandview to attend Red River College for level 1 Automotive Mechanics. After completing work experience at McNaught Pontiac GMC Chevrolet and finishing the course at Red River, Jodi started full time work at McNaught in the summer of 2003. Specializing in driveability and electrical, Jodi became a fully certified red seal technician in 2008.

Obviously meeting “on the job”, Scott and Jodi shared several similarities and interests. Between both of their training and specializing they had all of their bases covered and started talking of opening up on their own. Married in 2010, they finally took the plunge and built a brand new, state of the art shop in Jodi’s hometown, Grandview, MB. The grand opening took place on October 17, 2011. From day one, the business took off – they filled a gap in the market and continue to do so today.

Since opening, Trakside Motors continues to grow. It now employs two full time workers, Gavin James, a 4th level automotive tech apprentice and Bobbi-Jo Robak, a certified Parts Person. As well as a part-time employee Evan Gryba. Trakside strives to do the best work at the best prices and continues to stay up to date on new technology.

The McAmmond family has grown as well. In 2013 Scott and Jodi welcomed their first son ,Tarik, into the family and in 2016 a second son, Cruz joined in. There should be no shortages of mechanics in the area for years to come.
